Many of the people all over the world says that the language of the Philippines is Tagalog. But mind you guys, Tagalog isn’t the language of the Philippines, it’s Filipino. It might confuse you because the people who lives in the Philippines are called Filipinos. (‘Filipinos’ is the plural form of Filipino. And ‘Filipina’ for women.) Filipino language is some kinda confusing because the language is compose of different languages like Spanish, English and more. But Spanish is the main origin of the Filipino language, it is like the root of it. Because Philippines was conquered by the Spaniards for 333 years, to be exact.
Tagalog is the general term for the ethnic languages in the Philippines. So I am just correcting you guys that the language of the Philippines is FILIPINO and not Tagalog. 🙂
